And the Winner Is…

I ran into a plump lad.

He said Hi, like a fellow

And asked me if I knew,

About the contest with John Bonn.

If I knew about it going on today,

And how John Bonn was going to win, anyway.

Then he explained,

That the contest was big,

And that I might win on against John.

I nodded my head and left for my cubby,

Not knowing the contest was more than just buddy-to-buddy. 

That day I was awarded the sweet sweet medal,

on that day the awarder said, “And the Winner is…”

and handed me the clump of metal.
